I have so much to be thankful for.  I have such an amazing life in such an amazing spot with such an amazing family.  I had such an awesome day today.  So I'm home and thought about all I had done: surfed at the crack of dawn with my surf brother, met up with some awesome friends for lunch, had a great cross-fit workout with people that I love training with.  I absolutely love my friends and my family.  People seem to always bring out the best in me.  I fell blessed all the time but especially today.

So now I'm home and I'm tired, I don't really want to work on anything.  Then I think about my foundation and where I come from.  One person that taught me about enjoying work, relishing it, being passionate about what I do is my Grandpa.  He loves working and when he was staying with Ali and I, we could not stop him from working.  My surf van which used to be a clutter of absolute mess is now a super organized surfboard storage display system (SOSSDS for short).

I was looking through some of the pictures I took of him while he was working and I could see the determination in his eyes.  I thought I'd post the pics since I'm sure everyone will see the same determination I do.  He is so awesome, crazy at times, but awesome.

Thanks Grandpa, because of you now I will get back to work.

Donna and Chris were one of the most fun couples I've ever had the honor of shooting.  We rocked it in the forest where their love for each other was so easy to capture on camera.  Then we found this awesome tunnel seen midway through the clip below.  Last but not least we finished the shoot within earshot of where Chris proposed to Donna.

Lisa and Tony are one of the coolest couples I've ever met.  Ali and I had the chance to shoot this awesome couple on Lisa's birthday!  They totally rocked it and put up with my antics and exuberance for the entire shoot.  Ali my assistant, or as she says my boss accompanied me and lent me her amazing creative eye.  Enjoy the photos, I know I put up more than just a few but you know, such a gorgeous couple deserves every square inch of my blog.

EPIC.  That's the only word that can describe the wedding of Jose and Olga.  Their love was an inspiration to me and their 1200 plus guests.  It was an absolute honor to get to know them and their friends and family.  I had the honor to fly down with Jon Chan (www.jonchanphotography.com) and Gavin Wade (www.gavinwadephotographers.com) and have a ridiculously awesome time hanging out in the Gables of Miami.  Ray Santana (www.raysantanaphotography) my dear friend and mentor as well as one of Miami's top wedding photographer was an amazing host and guide.  I also had the chance to meet one of Florida's new up and comer photographers as well, Lara Rios (www.lararios.com/blog).  The entire event was jaw dropping, but what stood out most for me was Olga and Jose.  They were completely meant for each other.

Gorgeous. I love how, among the beauty of the event, you captured the emotion & "special moment" expressions between the bride and groom...

I got to shoot with an absolute NINJA this past weekend.  The ridiculously amazing Ray Santana (www.raysantanaphotography.com) is my mentor, my inspiration, my Obi Wan (I am kind of a Star Wars nerd).  I tell you what, Ray is an amazing shot but he is an even more amazing person, father and host.   You will not find someone so eager to give and such a pleasure to be around.  It was an honor to shoot along side him.  Pics of the wedding coming soon, here is a shot of the man himself.

HAHA! Total ninja that guy! What you don't see is the nearly 1000 people sitting in church watching all of this happen! He just steps up, get's the shot, and walks down! Cajones grandes on that fella :)

Can't wait to see the rest Oz!

(02.26.10)
